On this page you will find some background information about me. Who am i? Why photografy? Why Aircraft? Why artistic? On this page i will tell these things about myself.
About myself
My name is Jasper Scheffers. I was born on March 29th 1987. I live in Eindhoven, The Netherlands. In 1998 I had to make a report for my primary school. For this report I went to Gilze-Rijen airbase to see some things about aviation. I went there because my uncle worked there and he could show me a lot of the things I needed to see. After I had made this report I started to collect more stuff about aviation and finally I went to Eindhoven airbase to see the aircraft closer. My first visit was around 2000. After a while I became very enthusiastic about aircraft, I went to my first airshow, the "Open Dagen Koninklijke Luchtmacht 2002" at Gilze-Rijen airbase. I had a very bad camera, but loved the show and the aircraft. At that time I decided I want to take more pictures of aircraft and the real spotting for me had started. My father had an old camera which he used to make slides. He didn't use that camera anymore and suggested I used it to learn more about photography. This was also a very cheap option to learn photography.

I started to go to the Eindhoven airbase more and more. Every year I went to the "Open Dagen Koninklijke Luchtmacht" and my pictures went better over time. After a while, I noticed that my camera was not as good as I would like. It was too old and there was light coming in which spoiled the pictures. I decided to buy a new one, but this time a digital camera. In 2005 I bought the Canon EOS 300D. I also needed new lenses and other equipment for the camera, because the old equipment didn’t fit on this new camera. I noticed that the quality of this camera is much higher and I am able to take pictures faster. It also reduces the costs to take pictures, no film and no development costs are required.

After a while I had to do a workplacement for school. I decided with some schoolmates to go to Denmark for six months. We had a great time over there and I took a lot of pictures, including aircraft. After a couple years and a lot more pictures, I needed a new lens. My old telephoto lens was a cheap one and didn’t have the quality I wanted anymore. I decided to buy a new lens in 2008, just before the "Open Dagen Koninklijke Luchtmacht 2008". The first time I really used this lens was at this show, the pictures where much better. This is now my standard lens.

In 2010, I bought my new camera, the EOS 50D. Immediately I noticed the difference between the two cameras. I took more pictures of different things, such as cars, architecture, urban, etc.

In 2011, I started to experiment with some picture editing: HDR(High Dynamic Range) photography and even Black & withe made the entrance in my collection. This resulted in the more artistic photographs I now make. Some people saw my pictures and asked me to take some for them. Also, I started to sell the artistic pictures I made. My first real publications where made as shown below.

I the future I plan to travel to more foreign countries. While still in the Netherlands I want to travel around to see and photograph more things.

Objective
My objective is to make the best pictures of different objects as I can. As you can see, I take pictures of everything. It makes no difference how many pictures I take or what subject it is, as long as the results are good. My passion for aircraft takes me to some weird places, where I can also take pictures of other subjects. All these pictures will be published on this site.
Publications
In 2010, I got my first publication in the "Jeep Bulletin" of the "Original Jeep Owners Club" in the Netherlands. This was one full page of pictures about an event for American cars. One year later I went on a tour and took pictures for the same magazine. I also wrote an article. These pictures where shown to some people before they came out in the magazine, they asked me to take some for them. Because of this I got some more publications as mentioned below.
